What are the benefits of Bovine Colostrum for puppies and dogs?

Using a Bovine Colostrum supplement has many, many benefits, and I highly recommend it over anything else.  Colostrum is life’s first food. The number one killer for dog’s and puppies today is immune disease.  If their immune system is compromised, it leaves the door open for all kinds of diseases. Infections, auto-immune disease, ulcers, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, allergies and aging are immune related. The healing power of colostrum is the best source on earth for healing your dog’s immune system. Colostrum contains all known growth factors, which accelerate the regeneration and healing of all body tissues.

Bovine Colostrum For Dogs Helps with Leaky Gut Syndrome

What is leaky gut? It involves the cells lining your intestines to allow particles to pass into your bloodstream or lymphatic system. Colostrum can heal and protect your dog or puppy against leaky gut syndrome and give them a lifetime of optimal health.

Bovine Colostrum Helps with Allergies

Bovine colostrum has also been shown to contain an array of antibodies to common allergens that can affect dogs. Colostrum contains a hormone called Proline-Rich-Polypeptide (PRP). This hormone can either stimulate an under-active immune system or, in the case of allergies, down-regulate an overactive immune system.

Bovine Colostrum Helps with Joint Problems

Problems with joints and connective tissue, such as hip dysplasia or degenerative arthritis, have also improved with colostrum supplementation. It appears that joint-related problems, that originally were helped with glucosamine and then declined, improved when they were given colostrum.

Bovine Colostrum Helps with Skin Problems

Inflammation, caused by an overactive immune system, is the underlying influence on skin problems.  One vet says “I found that colostrum cream (3-4x’s Daily) is the best topical healing agent I have ever used in 26 years of practice. It is the most effective product I have ever used.”  Try mixing the colostrum with plain water or aloe vera in your hand then apply to open wounds, abscesses, cysts, dermatitis, insect bites, sores, scrapes, bumps, hair loss, etc.

Final Thoughts on Bovine Colostrum

You cannot overdose with Colostrum because it is a natural food.  If you do not start to get results in three days, increase the dose by ⅓ tsp for up to 3 days until your toy breed dog or puppy shows improvement.

Cow colostrum is much richer than human colostrum.

The immune and growth factors present in bovine colostrum are critical to keep your dog staying strong, full of energy and disease free.

Potentially, any sick pet may benefit from supplementation with colostrum.

I already take bovine collagen, but now I’m starting to think maybe I want this bovine colostrum. Of course I’d heard about it as the first food a human baby gets when breastfeeding, but I never knew the bovine product would be ok for humans (and dogs, and other species!) too. very cool info

    • Tammy

I use it myself and it really helped with my stomach problems, and it really works great for my dogs and they love the taste. 🐾

  • You mean colostrum has no side effects if some people use it for bodybuilding?

  • Sarah

Wow, this sounds like the vitamin of all dog vitamins! I’ve never heard of it until now, however will keep this in mind as I’m considering getting a dog within the next year. Thanks for the info!

    • Tammy

Thanks Sarah! Yes, this is the best stuff ever. I also use it when my tummy isn’t happy. It has really helped my dogs with all kinds of ailments, it’s golden! 🐾

  • Wow!
Who new there were so many conditions that dogs get? I knew a few of them but your “partial “ list blew me away. I’m curious about the “possible die off symptoms “ listed under cons? What is that? It sounds pretty bad but I’m sure it’s not what I’m thinking.
Great product for our four footed best friends though. I’ll have to give it a try.

Hi George, thank you for the question. Die-off, also known as, Herxheimer reaction is when your body starts to dump all the toxins and bad stuff out. It’s actually a good thing. You’ll feel lousy for a few days, but then you’ll feel great when it’s all over. Some symptoms are: Nausea, Headache, fatigue, dizziness,
Swollen glands, Bloating, gas, constipation or diarrhea, Increased joint or muscle pain, just to name a few. 🐾

  • Hi Tammy, this is amazing =) As a fellow dog lover, I have to admit it is my first time to know about this and its benefits. I usually give my doggies chewable vitamins. You shared a very brilliant product which I will definitely consider. Super thanks for this information =)

  • Annette

It’s the first time i hear of bovine colostrum, but i’m impressed with the benefits it can give to a dog.
I think it’s a must have especially if you have senior dogs, they are more prone to all the problems you mentioned above.
I even feel like taking it, if i didn’t read you post i would’ve never heard of it, since i plan on adopting a dog soon i will make sure to add this to the must haves.
Thank You for this awesome info.

  • This is a super and useful article with a lot of information about dog’s health and bovine colostrum. I thing all dog owners should give this bovine colostrum to their dogs as I can see in your article how useful it is as far as dog’s fitness and health is concerned. Great read I must say…:)
